Home Sweet Home....home is when ever I'm with you!!!

Well we have embarked on a new frontier, one that includes modern amenities such as a food refrigeration system, a stove and this handy dandy contraption that washes the dishes for me...and not even in the bathroom sink!!! It's amazing and I am certinatly grateful to join the modern world again, I'm 100 boxes, 75% of my wardrobe, a nice set of sheets, the contents of my studio and TV away from the old me.

In the mean time we are pecking away at our place with a little help from family and friends!(Bruce and Janine were here recently and helped a ton along with Jesse)Now we are preparing another room for my sister (Rhiannon) to move here,in two weeks I'll be heading to Denver to pack her up and christen her move with a sister road trip! Jessica, Allison and I have officially started our business...Table of Contents Events, check out our website tableofcontentsevents.com we have 2 weddings on our books for the summer and have had a few orders on Etsy and are THRILLED about it all! I just landed an internship with a very talented and interesting surface and materials designer, which officially started today. So life is full in a good way and can I say it has been really nice to cook again, I forgot how much we love to have people over and entertain, consider this an open invitation to come visit!!! Spring is just around the corner!! Oh and I painted the wall black, yup shiny black, I know it seems a bit like wearing white after labor day to all those traditionalists out there but I think im in love....

looking in from the entrance, still painting

window bench covered with the old sub floor from the kitchen

antique copper x-ray pendants over the dining room table

onions missbehaven spider-monkey no bobbi kristina larkin(Onie Larks for short) and a new Randy Walker print!

the kitchen is shaping up to be my very favorite place, Bruce and Jesse pretty much laid the whole floor on Bruce and Janine's "vacation", it's from a farm house across the water circa 1890. Refurbished pendant lights thanks to Janine that we got from the Restore.  We are still working on the formula to put in concrete counter tops but for now it's so much better than our 5 cooler system-toaster oven system!!

I designed and made(with a little help from my lovely husband) this piece in a furniture design class last summer using an antique ice box and eastern maple for a butcher block surface. The red pig was a sweet score on a wine tour in Santa Barbara last August, I heart him.

front view + a curious kitty + black wall

new flush mount stainless sink with a fancy plastic and tape system Mark designed to keep the concrete board dry until we pour the real counter tops

soon the pantry will have shelves and all the tools will have a real home and my cabinets will be filled with only pretty pretty things....soon. In the meantime how many girls can say they have a power tool cupboard in their kitchen

a shot of the amazing crunchy floor, I was a skeptic but Mark was right, it is pretty!

shotgun style! through the kitchen to the dining and living room, I cannot wait to replace the door, that currently has the permits hanging in the window of it! classy I know!

also don't be jealous of my brown sheet curtains and the random furnishings that could be reached in the garage/storage locker. It's going to be like Christmas when I get to have all my stuff again!!

our crazy baby

and her tolerant handsome older kitty brother curling up in today's laundry

I love the way the light reflects on the black! I'm actually planning to put a fake lacquer(maybe acrylic-let me know if you have any tips on this) finish over the wall to make it super shiny...don't be scared, it will be beautiful

I found this sweet little number recently and cannot wait to find the perfect place for it...Home Sweet Home is happening more and more here every day, we have pretty much made it through the thick of it, what ever else happens now can only move us forward!
